Senior Business Development Officer – Asset Management

About the role

The Senior Business Development Officer will support the Head of Business Development and the Managing Director in expanding EDC Asset Management's assets under management in Kenya. The role focuses on understanding client investment needs, pitching new business, and maintaining strong relationships with retail, high‑net‑worth, and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth through effective resource utilization.
• Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the asset‑management business within the coverage area.
• Manage the asset‑management portfolio to ensure continuous AUM and revenue expansion.
• Design and execute distribution strategies for both retail and institutional clients, across digital and physical channels.
• Resolve client issues promptly to ensure high satisfaction.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business prospects through cold calling and lead follow‑up.
• Conduct client meetings, product demonstrations, and presentations.
• Negotiate and close new business contracts.
• Collaborate with Ecobank relationship managers for product training and joint marketing activities.
• Gather market intelligence on trends, competition, and sales performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (minimum).
• SEC license where applicable.
• Customer‑centric mindset with strong networking abilities.
• Excellent supervision, presentation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to sell investment solutions and develop marketing initiatives.
