Senior Forward Deployment Engineer

About the role

Accelera Digital Group is looking for a highly accomplished, deeply technical Senior Forward Deployment Engineer to act as the dedicated technical engine and trusted advisor for a strategic enterprise client. The engineer sits on the front lines, owns the technical relationship end-to-end, and thrives at the intersection of production-grade engineering, complex problem-solving and high-impact client engagement. The role is based in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Dedicated technical advisory: act as the primary, high-touch technical authority and advisor for a key enterprise customer, translating technical capability into strategic client value.
• Account expansion: proactively identify technical gaps and new business opportunities, and partner with the presales team to build future architectures and pitch new solutions.
• Rapid prototyping: scope, design and build custom demos, production-grade prototypes and Proofs of Concept tailored to the customer's ecosystem.
• Architecture and integration: work with the customer's engineering, security and infrastructure teams on deployment pipelines, custom integrations and data flows, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Real-time problem solving: debug deployment, infrastructure, integration or performance issues on the fly.
• Product feedback loop: bridge the customer's engineering requirements with internal Product and Core Engineering teams and advocate for features that drive enterprise adoption.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, backend systems, cloud architecture or site reliability engineering (SRE).
• Ability to switch between coding with senior developers and presenting architectural strategies to CTOs and VP-level stakeholders.
• High autonomy, grit and a strong sense of ownership.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a track record of building trust with client engineering teams.
• Nice to have: experience in AI/ML infrastructure, distributed systems, high-throughput data processing or cybersecurity; prior forward deployment, technical pre-sales or high-touch account management; knowledge of financial services, payments or FinTech.
