Tutorial Fellow - Food Nutrition & Dietetics

About the role

Mama Ngina University College is recruiting a Tutorial Fellow in Food Nutrition and Dietetics for a full-time, on-site position in Gatundu, Kenya. The post is the entry grade for PhD holders in this cadre and works under the direct supervision of a senior officer. The advertised deadline is 05/11/2026.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct tutorials and prepare learning materials
• Guide students through coursework and mark assignments
• Support research activities
• Assist lecturers with curriculum delivery and academic administration

Required profile

• An earned PhD or equivalent doctorate, or a Master's degree, in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Nutrition and Dietetics or its equivalent from an accredited university; a Bachelor's degree in the same field is also listed as acceptable
• At least three years of university-level teaching experience or experience in research or industry
• A minimum of 24 publication points, at least 16 from refereed journal papers
• Evidence of attendance and contribution to conferences, seminars or workshops
• Registration with the Kenya Nutritionists & Dieticians Institute

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer applications

• Remuneration according to the Inter Public University Councils Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) and 2021-2025 CBA approved salary rates
• Permanent and pensionable employment for Lecturer positions; Tutorial Fellows are engaged on a one-year contract renewable twice based on progress toward a Ph.D.
