Underwriting Credit Analyst (French Speaking)

About the role

The Underwriting Credit Analyst will join Citi's Institutional Credit Management team, providing credit risk analysis, monitoring and administration for corporate, public sector and financial institution clients. The role requires strong bilingual communication in English and French and focuses on delivering high‑quality credit assessments and ongoing portfolio oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Assess credit and financial strength of corporate, public sector and financial institution clients using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Perform preliminary analysis of simple to complex credits, calculating cash flow, debt service coverage, collateral coverage and guarantor net worth.
• Spread new, renewal and interim financial statements in line with bank guidelines, focusing on complex statements.
• Prepare credit analysis write‑ups and assign internal credit risk ratings based on independent assessment.
• Continuously monitor the portfolio, track industry trends, and escalate potential credit issues to underwriters, risk and banking partners.
• Partner with regional and industry stakeholders to implement credit assessment and monitoring standards.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure thorough and accurate application packages before underwriting.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of credit experience in banking, credit risk management or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in written and verbal English and French.
• Strong analytical skills with understanding of liquidity, leverage and other key financial components.
• Ability to identify root causes, trends and anticipate emerging issues.
• Background in corporate and financial institutions risk analysis is a plus.
