Unit Manager – Insurance Sales

About the role

Old Mutual is seeking a proactive Unit Manager for its Bishop Gardens branch in Kenya. The role focuses on attracting, recruiting, and retaining insurance sales agents to achieve revenue and persistency targets. Reporting to the Regional Branch/Sales Manager, the position is contractual and central to driving business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver business plan targets, including revenue, persistency, and product mix.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain sales agents, ensuring they meet performance goals.
• Monitor and evaluate agent performance, providing daily activity plans and support.
• Implement training programmes to develop agent skills and competence.
• Identify new market opportunities and advise on associated risks.
• Enforce performance management processes and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Uphold Old Mutual’s brand image and adhere to AML, KYC, and sanctions policies.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in a business‑related field.
• Minimum 3 years of sales experience in insurance or financial services.
• At least 2 years experience managing a sales unit or agency (preferred).
• Valid COP Certificate and current IRA license.
• Knowledge of Kenyan insurance legislation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
