Business Development Officer – Travel Channel

About the role

The Business Development Officer – Travel Channel will drive growth for NCBA Group’s travel insurance portfolio. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for achieving premium, policy‑count and profitability targets while building strong relationships with travel‑related partners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver approved gross written premium, policy‑count and profitability targets for the Travel Channel.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, online travel platforms, visa and education consultants, and corporate travel accounts.
• Drive quote‑to‑policy conversion, renewal and cross‑sell across leisure, business, student and group travel propositions.
• Onboard priority travel partners, conduct due diligence and agree on activation plans.
• Manage partner relationships through contact plans, business reviews and service‑level follow‑up.
• Coordinate accurate quotations, policy issuance, amendments, cancellations and documentation within agreed service levels.
• Serve as the first escalation point for partner and customer enquiries, working with Underwriting, Operations, Finance and Customer Experience.
• Guide customers and partners on claims notification requirements and track claims‑service feedback.
• Ensure distribution complies with product terms, company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven ability to meet premium and policy‑count targets in a sales environment.
• Experience building and managing pipelines with travel‑industry partners.
• Strong partner relationship management and activation skills.
• Capability to coordinate quotations, policy administration and service‑level delivery.
• Understanding of compliance, risk and governance standards in insurance distribution.
