Business Development & Investor Relations Manager

About the role

The Business Development & Investor Relations Manager will sit at the intersection of investor stewardship, offtaker growth and programme analytics. Reporting to senior leadership, the role blends relationship management, market expansion and strategic advisory to build inclusive, commercially viable livestock value chains.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain regular contact with investors, donors and funding partners, delivering quarterly updates and managing CRM records, commitments and reporting obligations.
• Identify and prioritize opportunities to expand offtakers’ domestic customer base across Kenya, supporting go‑to‑market plans for institutional buyers, urban retail, food service and informal markets.
• Provide commercial advisory to the programme team, analysing unit economics, margins and competitive positioning, and recommending adaptations.
• Coordinate and deliver workshops on market expansion, buyer engagement and investor readiness, capturing actionable learnings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Agribusiness or a related field.
• Proven senior‑level experience managing investors, donors, corporate partners or institutional buyers, preferably in agriculture, agribusiness, livestock or FMCG distribution.
• Strong commercial judgement, data‑driven narrative building and ability to produce senior‑level briefings and presentations.
• Willingness to travel within Kenya, especially to pastoral counties, and proficiency in English (Kiswahili highly desired).
