General Manager – Furniture Store

About the role

The General Manager will lead a luxury furniture store in Nairobi, driving sales growth, profitability and brand positioning. This senior role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on operational oversight to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business strategies to increase sales and market share in the high‑end furniture segment.
• Oversee daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, merchandising and customer service.
• Maintain optimal stock levels and manage procurement and supplier relationships.
• Build and nurture relationships with high‑net‑worth and corporate clients, ensuring a premium shopping experience.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate the store team, fostering a performance‑driven culture.
• Monitor KPIs, budgets, sales targets and operational expenses, preparing regular financial reports.
• Stay informed on market trends, design innovations and competitor activities, collaborating with marketing on promotions.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Interior Design or a related field.
• At least 5 years of senior management experience, preferably in luxury or high‑end furniture retail.
• Strong commercial awareness, financial acumen and understanding of luxury market dynamics.
• Proven track record in sales leadership, retail operations and team development.
