HR Associate

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking an HR Associate to lead the onboarding and off‑boarding experience for new staff in Kenya. You will act as the primary point of contact for candidates after they accept an offer, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and welcoming transition into the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full onboarding cycle: pre‑arrival communication, orientation scheduling, documentation collection, and system setup (Workday, Cornerstone, Teams).
• Provide onboarding kits, facilitate team introductions, and ensure technical equipment is configured.
• Track onboarding tasks, manage data entry, and maintain compliance acknowledgements.
• Coordinate structured exit processes, including terminal dues and final clearance in line with Kenyan labor law.
• Gather and file all employee paperwork, including contracts, biodata, and benefits enrollment.
• Support recruitment activities in partnership with Recruiting Associates and hiring managers.
• Maintain accurate HRIS records throughout the employee lifecycle.
