Knowledge & Evidence Systems Consultant – East & Southern Africa

About the role

UN Women is seeking a Knowledge and Evidence Systems Consultant to lead the management, institutionalisation and reuse of gender‑related evidence across the East and Southern Africa region. The role will support the Regional Gender Evidence and Learning Unit in creating a coherent evidence ecosystem that informs policy, programmes and advocacy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain monitoring databases, dashboards and evidence repositories using Power BI, Excel and SharePoint.
• Curate, organise and store research, evaluations, lessons learned and knowledge products for easy access and reuse.
• Ensure data quality, governance and compliance with UN Women’s knowledge‑management standards.
• Produce visualisations and analytical outputs to support evidence‑informed decision‑making.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and organisational learning across the regional team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in knowledge management, data management or evidence‑systems within an international development context.
• Strong understanding of gender statistics and gender‑equality data.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
