Relationship Officer – Trade Finance (Bid Bonds)

About the role

The Relationship Officer – Trade Finance (Bid Bonds) will be responsible for acquiring and managing clients who need bid bonds, performance bonds, and other trade finance solutions. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through tender processes and ensuring smooth issuance of financial products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and onboard clients requiring bid bonds, performance bonds, and trade finance solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and tender‑driven businesses.
• Source new business through networking platforms, referrals, and industry events.
• Structure bond facilities aligned to client needs and advise on tender requirements, bond limits, and eligibility.
• Prepare and submit credit proposals in line with internal policies.
• Conduct preliminary financial analysis and client due diligence.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit and documentation standards.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of clients throughout the tendering and project lifecycle.
• Cross‑sell related financial products such as working capital and LPO financing.
• Coordinate with internal teams for timely issuance, renewal, and cancellation of bonds.
• Monitor bond expiries, collect fees and commissions, and track market trends in tender‑driven sectors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in trade finance, corporate banking, or credit‑focused institutions.
• Proven experience handling bid bonds and performance bonds.
• Strong understanding of public and private sector tendering processes.
• Experience in client acquisition and relationship management.
