Retail Sales Manager – Airport Outlets

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, results‑driven Retail Sales Manager to lead the commercial and operational performance of our airport retail outlets in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu. The role combines revenue growth, profitability, customer experience and team leadership across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
• Drive sales performance across baggage‑wrapping services and travel essentials.
• Monitor sales KPIs, forecasts, expenses, profitability, and overall business performance.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, promotions, and cross‑selling opportunities.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and effective resolution of complaints.
• Oversee daily operations across all three outlets and ensure compliance with company and airport requirements.
• Maintain high standards of stock management, loss prevention, merchandising, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
• Develop and implement SOPs and continuously improve operational efficiency.
• Lead recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and team development.
• Build a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and customer excellence.
• Maintain strong relationships with airport authorities, airlines, tourism stakeholders, and other partners.
• Prepare regular performance reports and provide recommendations to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality or a related field.
• 5–7 years progressive retail management experience, with at least 3 years in multi‑site, airport or travel retail.
• Proven track record in achieving sales results and managing P&L in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience managing both service‑based and physical product offerings.
• Strong leadership experience in shift‑based or 24/7 operations.
• Analytical, reporting and commercial decision‑making expertise.
• Proficiency in retail systems, data dashboards, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
