Sales Account Manager East Africa

About the role

Optoma, the #1 DLP brand in EMEA, is launching its first direct sales operation in East Africa. As the inaugural Sales Account Manager you will create and grow the distributor network, win direct B2B accounts and deliver revenue from day one. You will report to the Territory Manager META and work autonomously across Kenya and the wider region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory sales plan for projectors, interactive flat panels and displays across East Africa.
• Identify, appoint and onboard new authorised distributors in Kenya and expand the reseller network into Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
• Target B2B customers in education, corporate, government and NGOs, engaging early in procurement cycles to influence tenders and RFPs.
• Organise product demonstrations, training events and workshops for distributors and end‑users.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts and reporting, and meet quarterly revenue and sell‑through targets.
• Gather competitive intelligence and report market trends to the Territory Manager META.

Required profile

• Proven B2B sales experience in IT, AV or display technology, preferably with projectors or IFPs.
• Demonstrated ability to build a channel network from scratch, ideally with existing AV distributor relationships in Kenya.
• Knowledge of the East African education market and government procurement processes.
• Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
• Fluent English; Swahili is a strong advantage.
• Comfortable working autonomously and reporting remotely.
