Underwriting Credit Analyst – French Speaking (C11)

About the role

The Underwriting Credit Analyst (C11) supports the credit team by reviewing and analysing complex financial statements, tax returns and loan structures. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate findings to senior credit officers and relationship managers.

Key responsibilities

• Spread new, renewal and interim financial statements and business/individual tax returns, focusing on complex entities such as not‑for‑profit organisations.
• Provide concise analysis of customers, portfolios and industry trends.
• Perform preliminary credit analysis, including cash‑flow modelling, debt‑service coverage, collateral coverage and guarantor net‑worth calculations.
• Coordinate with Credit Officers, Credit Analysts, Relationship Managers and other credit centre staff.
• Advise on loan agreements, covenant clarification and ongoing monitoring.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews of application packages before underwriting.
• Coach and train Credit Analyst I staff and support the Application Preparation Team Manager.
• Act as an industry specialist for SBA/EXIM loan analysis when required.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in a financial institution with a focus on credit analysis and statement spreading.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, financial products and credit risk assessment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
