Zonal Business Manager – Coastal Zone

About the role

The Zonal Business Manager will drive sales, collections, and overall business operations for Sun King’s EasyBuy solar products across the Coastal Zone of Kenya. Working with a large network of door‑to‑door field agents, you will ensure affordable, installment‑based solar solutions reach off‑grid and rural customers.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, retain and motivate a zonal team that includes Regional and Area Business Managers, Sun King Store Executives and Field Sales Executives.
• Provide ongoing training on sales, collections, product knowledge, inventory and logistics.
• Set clear sales routes, targets and collection plans, and monitor daily performance.
• Conduct joint fieldwork and weekly training sessions, including night and market activations.
• Achieve or exceed monthly sales and collection targets and report progress to the Country Business Leader.
• Resolve customer issues within 24 hours, overseeing product delivery, installation and after‑sales support.

Required profile

• Degree in Business or related field; MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 6 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial role, preferably in distribution, micro‑finance or BOP markets.
• Strong strategic thinking, team transformation ability and passion for serving rural, off‑grid consumers.
