Accountant – Food Manufacturing

About the role

The company is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join its finance team in the food manufacturing sector. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, and ensuring compliance with Kenyan tax and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and maintain the general ledger.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes and reconcile bank, supplier and customer accounts.
• Coordinate annual budgets, periodic forecasts and monitor departmental expenditures.
• Analyse production costs, profitability and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Monitor daily cash flow, prepare cash‑flow forecasts and manage supplier payments and customer collections.
• Prepare and file statutory tax returns (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax) and liaise with auditors and tax consultants.
• Develop and monitor internal control systems and mitigate financial risks.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience, approximately 5 years in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
• Ability to produce accurate financial reports and support strategic decision‑making.
