Business Relationship Officer (Credit Officer)

About the role

We are seeking dynamic Business Relationship Officers to drive credit solutions across Nairobi, Nakuru and Mt Kenya. The role blends sales, loan appraisal and portfolio management to support micro‑business clients while maintaining a high‑quality loan book.

Key responsibilities

• Market, promote and sell credit solutions to prospective customers.
• Recruit customers and conduct thorough loan appraisals.
• Follow up on loan repayments and maintain a quality loan book.
• Manage credit risk and ensure strong portfolio quality.
• Drive customer retention and nurture strong client relationships.
• Prepare accurate monthly performance reports.
• Achieve set sales, lending and portfolio performance targets.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration/Management, Banking, Co-operative Management, Entrepreneurship or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in micro‑business and logbook lending.
• Proven experience in sales, marketing and portfolio management.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Passionate about credit and financial services.

Required skills

• Computer literacy with good reporting abilities.
