About the role

Jumba Ruins Monsoon, a beachfront restaurant in Mombasa County, is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to lead its kitchen operations. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on delivering high‑quality seafood and Mediterranean dishes while maintaining the restaurant’s informal yet refined dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Plan and develop menus that highlight fresh local seafood and Mediterranean flavors.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
• Maintain strict hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure consistent culinary quality and timely service.
• Innovate new dishes and adapt existing recipes to meet guest expectations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in seafood and Mediterranean cuisine.
• Ability to work an à la carte hot kitchen environment.
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to thrive in a high‑paced, customer‑focused setting.
