Data Quality Analyst

About the role

The Jitu.com is looking for a detail-oriented Data Quality Analyst in Nairobi to validate data accuracy, test APIs and ensure the quality and reliability of data-related systems and processes. The role suits someone with a solid understanding of QA fundamentals, strong analytical skills and a passion for finding issues before they affect customers or business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, integration and data validation testing.
• Validate and analyse large datasets for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Test APIs and verify the data exchanged between systems.
• Create, run and document test cases, test plans and test results.
• Identify, document and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and business stakeholders on requirements and quality standards.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and backlog refinement.
• Support UAT and help validate business requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Improve testing processes, methodologies and quality practices.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, testing principles and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience working with and validating large datasets.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and follow through with minimal supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and strong written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of SQL and the ability to query data for validation.
• Experience testing and validating APIs.
• Preferred: hands-on SQL, API testing tools such as Postman, Python scripts for test automation, JIRA or Azure DevOps, and data warehouse, ETL or data pipeline testing.
