Deputy Director, ICT Services (Grade 14)

About the role

The Deputy Director, ICT Services (Grade 14) will lead the development, implementation and review of ICT policies, strategies and infrastructure at Maseno University, ensuring effective governance and digital transformation across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the development, implementation and review of the University’s ICT policies, strategies, regulations, standards and procedures.
• Advise management on establishing effective ICT governance structures.
• Facilitate the creation of frameworks to standardise digitisation of University records and procedures.
• Oversee service providers in developing and implementing appropriate ICT infrastructure.
• Promote digital infrastructure to support University services.
• Streamline operational processes through digital solutions.
• Design and implement measures to safeguard the University’s data, information and systems.
• Build ICT capacity among University staff.
• Consolidate operating systems by adopting cost‑effective technology solutions.
• Develop and maintain effective communication systems.
• Oversee development and maintenance of the University website and customer‑facing systems.
• Develop, implement and review the ICT business disaster recovery strategy.
• Lead the design and implementation of security systems to protect ICT assets.
• Prepare ICT status reports.
• Develop and implement Directorate strategic plans, budgets and performance contracts.
• Ensure compliance with good governance and mentor ICT staff.
