DP Chemistry Teacher

About the role

The DP Chemistry Teacher will join Still I Rise’s Nairobi campus to deliver International Baccalaureate Chemistry to refugee and vulnerable students. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on creating engaging, inquiry‑based lessons that meet diverse learning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess DP Chemistry lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
• Design differentiated, inquiry‑based learning activities and assessments.
• Grade student work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate progress records.
• Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school events.
• Engage with families and the wider school community to support student wellbeing and academic success.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in Chemistry education and strong knowledge of the DP/IB Chemistry curriculum.
• Experience teaching at DP or upper secondary level, preferably in international or high‑need settings.
• Student‑centered teaching approach with experience supporting diverse and vulnerable learners.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equity, inclusion, and alignment with Still I Rise’s mission.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the DP/IB Chemistry curriculum.
• Proficiency in lesson planning and designing inquiry‑based activities.
• Ability to create and implement assessments that measure student learning.
