Export Marketing & Sales Manager – Tea Export Business

About the role

An established organisation is launching a tea export business and needs an experienced Export Marketing & Sales Manager to build a commercially viable, compliant operation from sourcing to delivery for international customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the tea export commercial strategy aligned with the company’s business plan.
• Identify, engage and negotiate with international tea buyers, importers, distributors and brokers to build a robust pipeline.
• Lead tea sourcing, grade selection, quality assurance and packaging to meet customer specifications.
• Ensure full compliance with Kenyan tea export regulations, licensing and documentation requirements.
• Coordinate logistics from source to port, negotiate freight rates and manage shipping, customs clearance and delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial/export experience in tea or related agricultural commodities.
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan tea sector, Tea Board regulations and international market requirements.
• Proven track record in buyer acquisition, contract negotiation and revenue generation.
• Established network of industry contacts including tea boards, brokers, logistics providers and international buyers.

Required skills

• Export documentation preparation (commercial invoices, certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates, bills of lading).
• Logistics and freight coordination with clearing agents, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
