Hardware Sales Executive / Cashier

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Hardware Sales Executive/Cashier for its construction and building materials business in Githurai. The role combines customer-facing sales and advice with cashiering, stock monitoring and basic administration.

Key responsibilities

• Sales and customer service: greet and assist customers in choosing construction tools and building materials, give expert advice on cement, timber, plumbing, electrical, paint and tools, promote new products and offer upselling and cross-selling, and resolve queries, complaints and returns professionally.
• Cashiering: operate the POS system to process sales, refunds and exchanges, maintain the cash drawer, prepare daily cash reports, reconcile transactions and issue receipts.
• Stock management: monitor stock levels, help order, receive and store goods, organize displays, track slow-moving or damaged stock and coordinate with management.
• Administration: enter sales data into spreadsheets, report daily sales, record supplier deliveries and invoices, and keep up to date on market trends, product specifications and pricing.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in any field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a construction hardware store or building materials retail.
• Strong understanding of construction tools, materials and hardware products.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Honest, reliable and punctual, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Physically capable of handling stock and hardware items.
