Information Systems Administrator

About the role

A licensed Deposit Taking Sacco in Nairobi is recruiting an Information Systems Administrator through its client, Co-operative Bank. The role provides ICT support, maintains ICT systems and manages network infrastructure, servers and system backups.

Key responsibilities

• Manage network infrastructure, servers and system backups
• Implement cybersecurity measures to protect member data and transactions
• Oversee the Sacco's core banking system for smooth and secure operation
• Provide technical support to staff and resolve IT issues promptly
• Maintain and update Sacco management software for efficiency and compliance
• Monitor and improve system performance to keep downtime to a minimum
• Manage user accounts, access rights and data security policies
• Coordinate with vendors on hardware, software and IT service maintenance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
• Professional certifications in Microsoft, Fortinet or CompTIA
• Membership of a professional body
• At least 3-5 years of experience in IT administration, preferably in a Sacco or financial institution
• Experience with Sacco core banking systems

Required skills

• Strong understanding of database management (SQL, Oracle)
• Network administration, firewall management and cybersecurity
• Familiarity with mobile and digital banking integrations
• Problem-solving, negotiation and communication skills; integrity and attention to detail
