About the role

MWAURA JM ADVOCATES is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Lawyer to join its Nairobi office. You will provide legal advice and representation across family, conveyancing, corporate and immigration matters, delivering clear strategies and practical solutions for clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise and represent clients in family, conveyancing, corporate and immigration law.
  • Draft, review and negotiate legal documents, contracts and court filings.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, opinions and case files.
  • Attend court sessions, tribunals and client meetings as required.
  • Liaise with government agencies, registries and other stakeholders to complete transactions and filings.
  • Support business development initiatives and maintain accurate compliance records.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing and process improvement.

Required profile

  • Strong legal research, analysis and writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction and court documents.
  • Effective client service and communication skills.
  • Excellent time‑management, organization and case‑management capabilities.
  • High ethical standards, discretion and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • LL.B from a recognized institution and admission to practice law in Kenya (or eligibility for admission).
  • Computer proficiency in standard office applications and legal research tools; familiarity with case‑management systems is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department is an advantage.
