Lecturer in Nursing

About the role

Mama Ngina University College is recruiting a full-time, on-site Lecturer in Nursing for its Gatundu campus. The post is the entry grade for PhD holders in this cadre and works under the direct supervision of a senior officer. Employment is on permanent and pensionable terms, and remuneration follows the Inter Public University Councils Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) and 2021-2025 CBA approved rates.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and prepare course materials
• Assess students and supervise academic projects
• Conduct research and publish scholarly work
• Take part in curriculum development and departmental activities

Required profile

• An earned PhD or equivalent doctorate in Pediatric Nursing, Critical Care Nursing or Medical Surgical Nursing from an accredited university, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited university
• A Master's degree in one of those nursing specialisations, or progress towards a Ph.D. (an added advantage)
• Evidence of university-level teaching experience, or research or industry experience
• Evidence of publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and a valid practice licence
• Proficiency in computer applications

Tutorial Fellows are engaged on one-year contracts (renewable twice) based on progress towards a Ph.D. Applications, with a detailed CV and supporting documents, can be sent by email or by hand to the Principal at the college.
