Merchandiser - Cosmetics, Skin & Hair Care

About the role

The Partnership Agency is recruiting a full-time Merchandiser for a Kenyan wellness and beauty brand that makes Ayurvedic-inspired skincare and haircare products for melanin-rich skin and textured hair. The role ensures effective in-store execution of cosmetic, skincare and haircare products by keeping them visible, available and presented to brand standards, which drives sales and improves the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and replenish products on shelves, stands and displays according to planograms, keeping them organized, clean and visually appealing.
• Set up promotional displays, testers and point-of-sale materials, and make sure they follow brand guidelines and visual merchandising standards.
• Monitor stock levels in-store and in the backroom and ensure timely replenishment.
• Track fast-moving and slow-moving items, report stock-outs, check expiry dates and remove damaged or expired items.
• Engage customers with basic product information and support upselling and cross-selling of skincare, haircare and cosmetic products.
• Maintain consistency in product placement and promotional messaging.
• Submit daily or weekly reports on stock levels, sales trends and merchandising activities.
• Build good relationships with store managers and staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience in FMCG, cosmetics or beauty retail merchandising is an added advantage.
• Basic understanding of skincare, haircare and cosmetic products.

Required skills

• Strong attention to detail and visual presentation skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and basic sales and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple outlets, with time management and organizational skills.
• Basic data reporting skills using Excel or mobile reporting tools.

Working conditions: field-based role with travel between retail outlets, possible weekend or holiday work, standing for long periods and light lifting of stock.
