Sales Account Manager – East Africa

About the role

Optoma, the leading DLP brand in EMEA, is launching its first direct sales operation in East Africa. Based in Nairobi, the Sales Account Manager will create and grow the distributor network, win direct B2B accounts and deliver revenue from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory sales plan for projectors, interactive flat panels and displays across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
• Identify, appoint and onboard new authorised distributors in Kenya and expand the reseller network into neighbouring markets.
• Target education, corporate, government and NGO sectors, engaging early in procurement cycles to secure specifications in tenders and RFPs.
• Organise product demonstrations, training sessions and workshops for distributors and end‑users.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts and regular reporting to the META Territory Manager.
• Achieve and exceed quarterly revenue targets and sell‑through milestones.
• Collect competitive intelligence and report market trends.

Required profile

• Proven B2B sales experience in IT, AV or display technology, preferably with projector or IFP products.
• Demonstrated ability to build a channel network from scratch in East Africa.
• Existing relationships with AV distributors or resellers in Kenya are a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of the East African education market and government procurement processes.
• Results‑driven with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Fluent in English; Swahili is a strong advantage.
• Comfortable working autonomously and reporting remotely.
