Sales Account Manager East Africa

About the role

Optoma, the #1 DLP brand in EMEA, is launching its first direct sales operation in East Africa. As the Sales Account Manager you will establish and grow the distributor network, win direct B2B accounts and execute a structured sales plan to generate revenue from day one, reporting to the Territory Manager META.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory sales plan for projectors, interactive flat panels and displays across East Africa.
• Identify, appoint and onboard new authorised distributors in Kenya and expand the reseller network into Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
• Target B2B accounts in education, corporate, government and NGO sectors, engaging early in procurement cycles to influence tenders and RFPs.
• Organise product demonstrations, training events and workshops for distributors and end‑users.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts and reporting, meeting and exceeding quarterly revenue targets.
• Gather competitive intelligence and report market trends to the Territory Manager META.

Required profile

• Proven B2B sales experience in IT, AV or display technology, preferably with projector or IFP products.
• Direct experience working with East African dealer/distribution channels and knowledge of the regional education and government procurement markets.
• Demonstrated ability to build a channel network from scratch and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Fluent English; Swahili is a strong advantage.
• Comfortable working autonomously and reporting remotely.
