Senior Economic Inclusion Manager – Pan‑Africa

About the role

The Senior Economic Inclusion Manager will lead WUSC’s Pan‑African efforts to integrate refugee and displaced youth—especially young women—into higher education and the labour market. Working within the DREEM project, the role supports the Mastercard Foundation’s Young Africa Works and Scholars Program initiatives across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and other African countries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and strategic guidance to country partners on designing and implementing economic inclusion programmes for refugee youth.
• Build and nurture networks with higher‑education institutions, private‑sector partners, and civil‑society organisations to expand opportunities.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building workshops, toolkits and learning resources for partners.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on programme outcomes, ensuring alignment with the Mastercard Foundation’s RDP Strategy.
• Advocate for gender‑responsive approaches and promote the inclusion of young women in entrepreneurship and employment pathways.

Required profile

• Extensive experience (8+ years) in economic development, youth empowerment or refugee programmes in Africa.
• Proven track record of managing multi‑country projects and partnerships.
• Strong understanding of higher‑education systems and labour‑market dynamics in the region.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
