Assistant Chief Engineer (Hotel Engineering)

About the role

Assist the Director of Engineering in overseeing the hotel’s engineering operations, budget, and maintenance programs. The role focuses on safety, security, and asset protection while supporting guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise distribution and tracking of repair work orders and ensure timely, quality completion.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and life‑safety systems.
• Manage the physical plant, including equipment selection, ordering, and replacement.
• Provide 24/7 emergency response, operate generators and fire pumps, and perform equipment repairs as needed.
• Support staff training, safety procedures, and performance management in the engineering department.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and compliance with property policies.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in a technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar engineering role within a luxury hotel environment.
