Assistant Director Revenue Mobilization

About the role

The Assistant Director Revenue Mobilization will support the coordination of revenue collection strategies, identify new revenue streams, and ensure compliance with county revenue laws and financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing revenue reports in line with relevant county Acts and regulations.
• Coordinate public participation activities related to county revenue mobilization.
• Design and develop revenue administration systems, policies and procedures.
• Implement internal controls for revenue mobilization and enhancement.
• Identify, expand and manage all revenue streams for the Authority.
• Supervise, train and develop revenue staff.
• Conduct surveys and surprise inspections at revenue collection points.
• Perform accurate revenue analysis and advise on collection strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, ICT, Administration or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience, with three years at senior management level in revenue mobilization.
• Completion of a Senior Management Course of minimum four weeks.
• Knowledge of Nairobi City County Revenue Administration Act, Public Finance Management Act and County Governments Act.
• Understanding of national values and principles of governance as per the Constitution of Kenya.

Required skills

• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Experience with revenue management systems.
