Debt Collection Agent – Skip Trace

About the role

The Debt Collection Agent – Skip Trace will conduct investigations to locate clients and missing assets, supporting Mogo Finance’s recovery efforts in Nairobi. The role combines data analysis, online research and collaboration with field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed investigations to locate clients and missing units.
• Utilise digital databases, social media, credit bureau reports and public records to gather leads.
• Verify the accuracy of located information and update client records.
• Collaborate with field officers and collection teams to support account resolution.
• Analyse trends in skip accounts and provide insights to improve trace efficiency.
• Maintain detailed notes on skip‑tracing efforts in line with company policy.
• Adhere to legal, ethical and privacy standards when handling client information.
• Report identified fraud or asset concealment cases for escalation.
• Support the team in reaching monthly recovery and tracing targets.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in debt collection, investigations or customer verification (preferred).
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data analysis.
• Experience with online research tools.
