Business Development Executive

About the role

CIC General Insurance Limited is hiring a full-time, on-site Business Development Executive in Nairobi, reporting to the Business Development Manager. The role generates revenue by developing assigned markets and channels, building strong relationships and partnerships, and driving sustainable growth in Gross Written Premium. The position is open and the deadline is 05/11/2026.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise the portfolio mix to target Motor, Medical and Non-Motor business
• Identify, recruit, onboard and activate new insurance intermediaries to expand the distribution network
• Plan and run training and consumer education programmes for intermediaries
• Acquire and retain profitable business through new business and renewals
• Deliver an excellent customer experience across all touchpoints
• Build capacity among intermediaries and the internal sales force
• Ensure timely premium collection from intermediaries and clients
• Resolve client queries and complaints with internal support functions
• Gather and analyse market intelligence to inform product development and sales strategy
• Prepare quotations and services quickly for clients, brokers and agents
• Take part in department planning, budgeting and meetings, and follow audit, compliance and risk management requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Diploma in Insurance desirable
• At least two years of relevant experience
