Channel and Category Development Manager, East and Southern Africa

About the role

Flora Food Group is hiring a Channel and Category Development Manager for its East and Southern Africa (ESA) region, based in Nairobi. The role drives increased brand penetration and profitable sales volumes across assigned channels, making trade marketing efficient and effective while strengthening the group's presence in East and Southern Africa. It reports to the Head of Sales - East Africa and works with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop trade category plans for assigned channels, turning customer and shopper insights into business opportunities.
• Build and align account-specific trade plans with overall category objectives to maximise brand impact and sales growth.
• Prepare monthly rolling forecasts and promotion sell-out volumes using market intelligence.
• Collaborate with marketing on product launches, promotions and in-store activations.
• Manage trade and shopper promotions from proposal through to evaluation, ensuring on-time delivery and return on investment.
• Own the delivery of trade marketing plans that increase brand penetration and profitable sales volumes, allocating trade spend efficiently.

Required profile

• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in sales planning and trade marketing in the fast-moving consumer goods industry.
• Ability to analyse complex data and turn it into clear, actionable strategies.
• Ability to influence and align diverse teams and to deliver projects on time and in full.
• Genuine interest in food culture and consumer behaviour, and curiosity about future food trends.
