Engineering Trainee Program

About the role

The Engineering Trainee Program offers a hands‑on learning experience within the Engineering department of a five‑star hotel. Reporting to the Training Manager, the trainee will rotate through maintenance, mechanical, and electrical tasks to build practical skills in hotel engineering operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist mechanical technicians, ensure adherence to working hours and quality workmanship.
• Perform preventive maintenance on laundry, kitchen, HVAC, electrical and MEP equipment.
• Plan and schedule equipment maintenance without disrupting hotel operations.
• Carry out daily checks of electrical meters, record readings and prepare utility consumption reports.
• Support fuel (AGO & LPG) receipt, logging and leak detection in plant rooms.
• Execute minor electrical installations, service and repair of electrical equipment, and replace burnt‑out bulbs.
• Maintain boiler and swimming‑pool water treatment records and ensure proper chemical dosing.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in an engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
• Less than one year since graduation (2025/2026) and no prior work experience required.
• Kenyan citizenship.
• Ability to work in a multinational environment with good communication and professional grooming.

Required skills

• HVAC systems knowledge.
• Electrical and MEP installation basics.
• Preventive maintenance procedures.
• Understanding of HACCP and COSHH safety standards.
• Boiler water treatment and fuel handling.
