Remote Tax Accountant (Full‑time Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join our US‑based tax and consulting firm on a full‑time remote contract. You will own complex client engagements, guide junior staff, and collaborate directly with firm principals on tax planning and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complex individual returns, including multi‑state, multi‑K‑1, high‑net‑worth, and extensive Schedule C/E filings.
• Prepare entity returns such as 1120‑S, 1065, 1120, and 1041, and manage end‑to‑end multi‑entity engagements.
• Review work of junior staff, provide constructive feedback, and mentor team members.
• Respond to IRS and state notices on behalf of clients and calculate quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Participate in mid‑year and year‑end tax planning discussions and maintain ongoing client relationships.
• Utilize TaxDome for workflow management, client communication, and audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience with US‑based accounting firms focused on tax.
• CPA or EA certification.
• At least one year of experience working in a global remote environment.
• Proven ability to manage complex tax engagements and mentor junior staff.
