Restaurant Manager – Nairobi

About the role

The Restaurant Manager oversees all aspects of restaurant, bar/lounge and room service operations, ensuring high standards of service, sanitation and guest satisfaction. This role involves hands‑on supervision during peak periods, menu planning support and continuous improvement of financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily restaurant, bar/lounge and room service operations, maintaining service and sanitation standards.
• Manage staffing levels, create schedules and cover duties in the absence of team members.
• Lead and develop the food and beverage team through coaching, mentoring and performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with all food & beverage policies, local liquor laws, and food handling and sanitation regulations.
• Deliver exceptional guest service, handle complaints, gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee financial aspects including purchasing, invoice payment and cost control.
• Assist servers and hosts during peak periods and supervise shift operations when the Assistant Restaurant Manager is absent.
• Conduct training, set performance standards and promote a positive work environment.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of restaurant operations experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a fine‑dining or upscale Indian restaurant, preferably in a 5‑star hotel.
