Senior Justice & Rule of Law Expert

About the role
The Senior Justice & Rule of Law Expert will support the EU‑funded Cooperation Facility in Lesotho, providing high‑level technical advice on justice sector reforms and rule‑of‑law initiatives. The role is part of a pool of non‑key experts that may be mobilised on a short‑term, on‑demand basis throughout the 48‑month project. The expert will work closely with the EU Delegation, local authorities and implementing partners to ensure that reforms are aligned with EU action and Team Europe initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on justice sector reforms and rule of law.
- Conduct institutional and legal assessments to inform policy decisions.
- Support governance reforms and facilitate policy dialogue with national stakeholders.
- Monitor the implementation of justice‑related programmes and report on progress.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in justice reform, rule of law and governance.
- Experience in development cooperation projects is an advantage.
- Familiarity with EU‑funded projects is a plus.
