Senior Human Resources Officer (NGO)

About the role

Missions of Hope International (MOHI) is looking for a Senior Human Resources Officer for a full-time, on-site position in Nairobi. The role covers the implementation and development of HR functions in line with MOHI policies, supervising and leading staff as part of the management team. Applications close on 01/11/2026.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current and future staffing needs and build networks of potential candidates
• Lead recruiting and hiring practices and fill vacancies within a week of identifying them
• Capture accurate data, process payroll on time and manage HR databases and records confidentially and in compliance with the data protection act
• Identify training needs, develop curricula and implement staff development
• Coordinate performance management and support staff welfare and benefits such as medical and insurance
• Research, develop and update HR policies and ensure compliance with labour, legal and government laws
• Handle staff disciplinary matters and prepare departmental reports tracking strategic goals

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or Business Management (HR option)
• Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) and member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing
• At least five years of progressively responsible HR experience
• Good understanding of labour laws and experience managing simultaneous recruitment campaigns
• Commitment to Christian values, integrity and professionalism
