HR Business Partner

About the role

Safal Group is hiring a full-time, on-site Human Resource Business Partner in Athi River, Kenya, reporting to the Head of Human Resources & Administration. The role partners with business leaders to implement HR strategies, manage employee relations, improve performance and align workforce planning with organisational goals. It covers workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, organizational development, change management, employee engagement and HR governance.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to align HR strategies with business goals and drive workforce planning, organizational effectiveness and change management
• Lead talent management, succession planning and capability development, coach managers on performance management and employee development, and support leadership pipeline development
• Advise on disciplinary matters, grievances, investigations and conflict resolution, and support engagement with union representatives where applicable
• Ensure compliance with labour legislation, company policies and governance standards
• Drive employee engagement and culture, including well-being, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and engagement surveys
• Analyze HR metrics such as turnover, productivity, recruitment effectiveness, engagement and training outcomes, and contribute to improving HR policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or a related field
• CHRP-K or an equivalent recognized HR professional qualification
• Membership in a recognized professional HR body
• At least 10 years' progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in an HR Business Partner, HR Manager or equivalent senior HR generalist role
• Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, workforce planning, performance management and organizational development
• Preferred: manufacturing, industrial or multi-site experience, unionized environment experience, postgraduate qualifications in HR or Business Administration
