Lead People Partner

About the role

M-KOPA Solar is hiring a full-time Lead People Partner in Nairobi to own the people agenda for Kenya, its oldest and largest market, as the company scales toward serving more Every Day Earners across the continent. The role is a hybrid position with direct access to Kenya's leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Act as strategic advisor to Kenya's leadership team on org design, workforce planning and business-aligned people strategy
• Own talent review, performance calibration and succession planning for the Kenya client group, building the frameworks rather than just running them
• Lead employee relations resolution and serve as the escalation point for the market, ensuring compliance with Kenyan labor law
• Drive organizational change initiatives such as restructuring, transformation and cross-functional project delivery

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive HR/People Partner experience, including 3-6+ years advising director-level or above executives in fast-growth, matrixed organizations
• Working knowledge of Kenyan labor law and the regulatory environment, with end-to-end experience handling employee relations escalations
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing org design, workforce planning or succession strategy, with evidence of having built a framework
