Marketing & Communications Lead

About the role

Career Directions Limited is hiring a Marketing & Communications Lead for a client based in Nairobi, Kenya, with operations across several other countries. The role reports to the CEO and owns the group's brand voice and communications strategy, including end-to-end event management. SEO and social media are handled by dedicated teams, so this position coordinates them into one cohesive strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the group's marketing and communications strategy across Kenya and other countries of operation.
• Own events from concept and planning, through speaker sourcing and vendor coordination, to on-the-day execution and follow-up.
• Lead, mentor and manage the marketing team, setting priorities and ensuring consistent delivery.
• Coordinate the SEO and social media teams and step in to execute when needed.
• Oversee brand positioning and messaging across the portfolio, keeping each brand distinct.
• Manage content for digital channels, marketing collateral and client-facing materials.
• Work with sales and business unit leaders to align marketing with commercial goals.
• Track and report marketing performance and event outcomes, and manage relationships with vendors, agencies, speakers and media partners.
• Own the marketing budget and report on campaign and event ROI.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-4 years of experience leading a marketing team.
• Experience developing marketing strategies and turning them into measurable results.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, teams and stakeholders at once, and a hands-on approach to both leading and executing.
• Experience working across multiple markets or regions.
• Nice to have: managing marketing across several brands, familiarity with technology, security, customer experience or B2B sectors, experience marketing to healthcare, finance, education, hospitality or real estate clients, and budget management experience.
